SCORE-Erie, at the invitation of the Oil Regional Alliance, has opened a SCORE branch in Venango County effective January 5, 2012. The branch is under the leadership of Frank Hajduk, a retired business executive who returned back to his home area to volunteer his time to positively impact the economy of the area. Frank and Deb Lutz, Vice President of Economic Development for the Oil Region Alliance, have worked in cooperation with Dave Seyboldt, Mike Vereb and Tony Ciampa from the SCORE-Erie chapter to make this effort come to fruition over the last 90 days.
SCORE is a nationwide organization which is part of the Small Business Administration. Comprised of 364 chapters and more than 12,400 volunteer counselors, it offers "business life cycle" mentoring, support, counseling, business resources designed to assist small business grow and prosper.
The national headquarters is located in Washington DC.
With the opening of the Venango branch at 217 Elm Street, area business owners and those interested in starting a business can obtain personal, free confidential "life-cycle" mentoring in their own business area. This counseling is in addition to access to all the business resources on the Erie web site (www.erie.score.org) and the national site (www.score.org).
